1. a fur or combination of furs formerly much used for lining and trimming garments, especially ceremonial costumes. Miniver includes spotted white and gray fur, white fur symmetrically adorned with bits of dark fur, plain white fur, and ermine.
2. British. any pure white fur, especially ermine.
